Motichoor Ladoo brings back memories of festival traditions and delicious needs for enjoyment. Indian culture has included tiny sweet ladoo balls in its tradition for generations now. You can find Motichoor Ladoo at any celebration or for any reason because it always tastes great.

People call these treats “motichoor” because the name combines “pearl” and “crushed” to describe their sweet joy.

Ingredients (Serves: 8-10 Ladoos)

For the Boondi (Pearls):

  • ¾ cup water (adjust for batter consistency)
  • A pinch of orange food color (optional)
  • Ghee or oil (for frying)

For the Sugar Syrup:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 2-3 cardamom pods (crushed for aroma)
  • A few saffron strands (optional, for color and flavor)
Ingredients

For Garnishing:

  • Chopped pistachios and almonds
  • Edible silver foil (optional, for a royal touch)

Motichoor Ladoo Recipe: Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Preparing the Boondi

1. Stir gram flour with water and food color in a bowl until the mixture becomes smooth.

2. Heat ghee in a deep pan. Using a spoon with a hole-filled hole, pour the batter into the hot oil to make droplets (boondi).

3. Cook the boondi pieces till they turn tender instead of hard. Settle the fried boondi on top of kitchen towels.

Step 2: Making the Sugar Syrup

1. Stir sugar into boiling water until all grains vanish in a saucepan.

2. Add both cardamom seeds and threads with saffron to the mixture. Stir the mixture until the syrup shows its first stretch.

Step 3: Place boiled boondi pieces into sweet syrup to blend effectively.

1. Put the fried boondi into the sugar syrup while it is hot then blend everything carefully.

2. Leave the ingredient combination for 10 to 15 minutes while the boondi takes in the syrup.

Step 4: Shaping the Ladoos

1. After cooling the mixture slightly rub your hands with ghee and make small round ladoos.

2. Top your ladoos with chopped nuts plus toasted or dyed silver foil if you want an upscale presentation.

You Need These Steps to Prepare Perfect Motichoor Ladoos

1. Consistency Matters: Make the batter move easily as it does not need to be heavily thick or runny.

2. Right Heat: Cook boondi at middle temperature to keep it from burning.

3. One-String Syrup: The syrup texture needs to glue together the boondi without becoming viscous.

4. Be Gentle: Make laddus when the mixture stays warm so it sticks together better.
