- Crumbled Consistency: Make sure that the paneer is crumbled equally so the texture doesn’t vary while cooking. Do not mash it too much because some of the texture is good to be bitten.
- Customize Spices: You can also vary the spices to your preference of hot or sweet. If you want more heat you can increase green chillies or red chili powder.
- Don’t Overcook Paneer: It is best to cook the paneer partially or just enough to allow it to soak up the curries 3-4 minutes. Overcooking it makes it turn out rubbery and dry.”
- Add Veggies: Try to improve the nutritional profile of the dish by finely dicing and then also incorporating bell peppers, peas, or spinach. Cook these before adding paneer it gives a very nice taste and flavor to it!
- Flavor Boost: Sprinkle kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) or lemon juice at the end garnishing will also enhance the taste of the recipe.
- Oil vs. Ghee: Replace oil with ghee, which will give a better taste and smell as well.
- Avoid Watery Masala: Do not over-soften the tomatoes but just enough to allow the oil to settle at the back of the dish so that it is not soupy.
- Serve Fresh: Paneer Bhurji also has the best taste when consumed immediately; that is, while still hot. It only has the problem of turning dry if left for a long time.
